On April 18, 2012, we will begin to accept applications for our next class which begins in May of 2013. Our application process consists of three parts - with two different deadlines, so please read instructions carefully:
Part I: Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) - Deadline is September 1, 2012.
- All applications are submitted on-line through CASPA. This will include:
- All transcripts from any academic or professional coursework
- Three references
- Personal statement addressing the following:
The mission of the UND Physician Assistant Program is to “prepare selected health care professionals to become competent physician assistants working collaboratively with physician supervision, emphasizing primary care in rural and/or underserved areas”. In 500 words or less, address your aptitude, ability, dedication and commitment to meeting this mission.

Part II: On-line application to the Graduate School at UND. References and your personal statement are not required with this application since they are submitted to CASPA. However, you will need to submit the following to both CASPA and the Graduate School:
Part III: Physician Preceptor Profile. This form is completed by the primary care physician who will serve as your preceptor during the clinical phase(s) of your enrollment. Refer to "preceptor requirements" under admission information for specific preceptor criteria. Please download, print, ask the physician to complete and return to you; then forward via US mail to the Program office or you may scan, save as a PDF and send via email. Deadline is October 1, 2012.
