    The Fargo VA Medical Center is currently seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for the Surgery Department in the Surgical/Specialty Care Service Line.  Primary responsibilities include:  Assist with administrative and direct patient care for General Surgery and Orthopedics; perform history and physical examinations; place pre-op orders for labs/tests, ensure results are within acceptable ranges, and bring to pre-op rounds; make follow-up calls to patients post procedure; assist in assessing post-operative needs; place discharge orders and write discharge summaries; monitor appropriate admission status; facilitate patient-centered rounds; write orders, take calls, and facilitate daily patient management to avoid intra-operative interruptions; solve multidisciplinary discharge issues occurring with increased volume of complex patients; assist in the operating room; and perform minor surgical procedures.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Graduate of a certified Physician Assistant training program or an accredited Nurse Practitioner training program

    Rocky Mountain College is seeking applicants for the position of Clinical Professor for our growing Physicians Assistant program.

     

    DATE OF APPOINTMENT:   July 1, 2008 or until position is filled.

     

    POSITION DESCRIPTION: This 12-month, full-time, tenured track faculty appointment participates in the design, development, organization, direction and evaluation of the courses of study and associated student educational activities that occur throughout the Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) Program.  As a core program faculty member, this individual is heavily involved in generating and delivering classroom lectures and clinical skills instruction over  a wide spectrum of clinical science topics, and creates, administers and analyzes numerous student assessments as part of the program’s ongoing formative evaluation of student performance.

    QUALIFICATIONS:  Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or other allied health, clinical or related basic science subject.  Doctoral degree preferred.  Extensive history of clinical practice as a licensed Physician Assistant.   Previous experience teaching health care professionals in a clinical or academic setting is highly desirable.  Current NCCPA certification is required.  Must be eligible for professional licensure in the state of Montana.  An excellent working knowledge of computer systems is very important:  Microsoft’s Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access and any digital imaging software programs.  Good communication and counseling skills are essential.
