Physician Assistant Program
Welcome to the University of North Dakota Physician Assistant Program Web Page. Hopefully, we can answer some questions you might have about the Physician Assistant profession and about the PA Program here at UND.
At present, there are about 134 accredited Physician Assistant Programs in the United States. The University of North Dakota Physician Assistant Program is the only PA Program in North Dakota. It has also been the only program in the United States that has been specifically geared to the clinically practicing Registered Nurse.
Presently we have initiated a 3 year pilot project of also accepting practicing health care professionals other than Registered Nurses into our Program. We believe that the format of our program is also appropriate for other clinically practicing professionals. Thus, for three successive classes, we are accepting a wider range of health care professionals. If this proves successful, we will continue with this change. More information on this Pilot Project can be found under the "Applicant Information" button.
