July 29, 2010: GRAND FORKS, N.D.—Joshua Wynne, M.D., M.B.A., M.P.H., vice president for health affairs and dean of the University of North Dakota (UND) School of Medicine and Health Sciences, can run, but he cannot hide. He prefers to have it that way; he leads by example. Wynne invites UND medical students, faculty and staff to join him for “Joggin’ with Josh,” an informal 5K walk, jog or run on Thursday, August 12. A sign-up table will be in the School of Medicine and Health Sciences’ main lobby facing Columbia Road; sign-up and T-shirt pickup starts at 4:00 p.m. The dean will speak to the group before the event, which starts at 4:30 p.m. “The UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences wants to practice what it preaches, that is, healthful lifestyles for better health,” said Wynne. Walkers, joggers and runners are asked to gather on the front steps before taking off on a route along the outskirts of campus. Water and healthful snacks will be available after the event.
