The city of Fargo, located in the far eastern section of North Dakota, is home to the Southeast Campus of UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences.
Fargo, founded in 1871, was named to honor William Fargo, one of the founders of Wells Fargo. Though the city has grown rapidly from its origins as a transportation hub for abundant crops grown in the fertile soil of the Red River Valley, it has maintained its comfortable life style and consistently ranked among the nations’ most livable small cities in the US by Money Magazine.
The Southeast Campus is home to third and fourth year medical students, as well as approximately 60 residents specializing in Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, Surgery, or a preparatory Transitional Year. The learners on our campus are fortunate to be supported and educated by the staff and faculty at the medical school, major affiliated health systems, and private physician offices.
The majority of the UNDSMHS Southeast Campus offices are located in the Medical Education Center on the grounds of the VA Medical Center and include: Clinical Neuroscience, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Surgery, Rural Health, Library Services, Campus Deanship, and the Graduate Medical Education office.
