The 2012 symposium was held at the UND Memorial Union on Thursday November 15, 2012.

The First Epigenetics and Epigenomics Symposium held at the University of North Dakota featured the following experts: Dr. Michael Kladde from the University of Florida Shands Cancer center, and Dr. Beth Sullivan from Duke University Genome Sciences and Policy Institute. In addition, scientists from North and South Dakota presented their research related to epigenetics. Students had the opportunity to present posters based on their research in the fields of epigenetics and epigenomics. This event aimed to promote interaction and collaboration among researchers in the Dakotas and beyond, and provide opportunities for learning about cutting-edge tools, approaches, and resources to advance epigenetics as it applies to human disease and development.
