Objectives::

Learn to evalulate pediatric health problems from a public health perspective.

Learn to use epidemiologic methods to evaluate public health issues.

Learn to design interventions on a community-wide basis.

Learn to find and use public health data from a variety of sources.

Learn to work in a cross-cultural community.
Intructional Activities:

Plan an epidemiologic investigation of a specific childhood public health
issue with preceptor.

Evaluate data; recommend an action plan based on conclusions.

If time permits, carry out intervention.

If time permits, evaluate effectiveness of intervention.
Standards of Performance (Outcome) Indicating Attainment of Objectives:

Develop a written plan for epidemiologic investigation acceptable to preceptor.

Collect adequate date to carry out #1.

Develop written report indicating reasonable analysis of investigation.

Time permitting, carry out intervention and evaluate effectiveness.
