Objectives of the Elective:
-
Be able to conduct a pediatric psychiatric assessment.

Demonstrte familiarity with pediatric psychotherapy techniques.
-
Demonstrate familiarity with pediatric psychopharmacology techniques.

Demonstrate familiarity with systems connected to the child, such as family,
social service, courts, and educational.
Instructional Activities:
-
Conduct diagnostic evaluations with children under the supervision of the
instructor.
-
Attend occupational therapy and recreational therapy groups.
-
Participate in multidisciplinary staffings.
-
Participate in meetings with the child psychologists.
Standards of Performance (Outcomes) Indicating Attainment of Objectives:
-
Conduct a minimum of two child psychiatric assessments which meet the approval
of the instructor.

Document attendance at the required groups, treatment team meetings, and
classes.
Criteria for Grading:
The student will perform written examinations.
