Objectives: Following successful completion of this elective, the
student will be able to:

Perform a selected set of research procedures.

Know the applications and limitations of the procedures.

Interpret the data obtained.
Instructional Activities: During this elective, students will be involved
in/experience:

Learning assigned laboratory procedures.
-
Working at the bench with direct instruction from faculty and experienced
lab personnel
-
Interpretation of the data obtained.
-
Reading/discussing relevant literature and reference.
-
Informal didactic learning related to the topic of interest.
Criteria for Grading: During and following this elective, the preceptor
will:

Assess the student's ability to properly perform and complete the assigned
procedures.

Assess the student's knowledge of the application and limitations of the
procedures.
-
Assess the student's knowledge of the basic mechanisms involved in the
procedures.

Assess the student's ability to properly interpret the data obtained.
