Health Sciences Graduate Student Diversity Tuition Waiver
Recognizing the educational benefit of a diverse student population, the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences adopted a Health Science Graduate Student Diversity Tuition Waiver Program.
A waiver of tuition, or a partial waiver, may be available to you. Special emphasis on this policy is to recruit, assist and retain American Indians and Alaska Natives, in addition to other racial, ethnical, economically disadvantaged and/or culturally diverse students.
Important things to consider:
- Definition of American Indian or Alaska Native: A person having origins in any of the original peoples of North and South America (including Central America) and who maintain tribal affiliation or community attachment.
- Definition of Economically disadvantaged as defined by the US Census Bureau: is someone who comes from a family with an annual income below a level which is based on low-income thresholds according to family size published by the U.S. Bureau of the Census, adjusted annually for changes in the Consumer Price Index.
- The amount of the tuition waiver will not exceed the amount of tuition. Tuition waivers do not include fees, books, board, room or any other costs of attendance.
- Generally, awards will be made for an academic year.
- Applications must be complete in order to be considered.
