UND Transitional Masters of Occupational Therapy (t-MOT)

What are the admissions requirements for the t-MOT program?
  In order to be eligible for acceptance into the t-MOT program, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Be a graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program
  • Achievement of a minimum of a 2.75 overall GPA on undergraduate OT coursework
  • Attainment of a passing score on the National Certification Examination for Occupational Therapy
  • Verification of a current state license to practice occupational therapy
  • Submission of a written personal statement describing interest in seeking a MOT degree

What are the admissions requirements for the Graduate School?
  By fulfilling the admission requirements for the t-MOT program, Graduate School requirements are also met. After receiving a complete applications packet (see below and also the Program Application page), the necessary materials are forwarded to the Graduate School:

  • Notice of acceptance into the professional t-MOT program by the Occupational Therapy Chair or Graduate Director of the t-MOT Program
  • Completed Graduate School application forms and payment of all application fee (Form found at: http://www.und.edu/dept/grad/html/gradapp.html )

Application Materials to Be Sent to the Graduate Director of the t-MOT Program: Deadline: April 15th. (See application page for detailed instructions)

  • Official transcript of OT coursework and degree from the degree-granting institution, documenting an overall GPA of 2.75 for baccalaureate OT coursework. If your OT degree was not from UND, please include a catalog description of the courses you took (often available on the university’s program website)
  • Photocopy of your current state license to practice occupational therapy
  • A written personal statement: approximately 2 pages in length, including a description of your OT career goals, your interest in obtaining a MOT degree and how you anticipate it impacting your career, current issues and trends in OT that are of interest to you, and other statements that you wish to add.
