Education/Clinical background
I have a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy
and Spanish form UND. I received my advanced Masters in
Occupational Therapy with an emphasis in Mental Health
from New York University. I completed my Ph.D in higher
education and Leadership from the University of Mississippi.
My primary practice experience has been in the area of
mental health, specializing in the care of emotionally
disturbed adolescents and children.
OT Department Responsibilities
I currently teach qualitative research course and group
leadership courses in the curriculum. In addition I teach
courses in the administrative track of graduate program
including Principles of Education and Service Delivery
Settings and serve as an advisor for student scholarly
projects.. I am the Graduate Director for the Online Transitional
Masters of Occupational Therapy for practicing therapists
and am serving as Interim Chair of the Occupational Therapy
Department.
Research/Scholarly Interests
My primary research interests include distance learning
strategies, teaching effectiveness, and mental health
issues. I enjoy working with students on a variety of
research topics and am open to pursuing all aspects of
occupational therapy practice
