Education/Clinical background.
I have a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy
and psychology, and a Master of Arts degree in counseling.
I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in occupational and adult
education at North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND.
My clinical practice background includes the areas of in-patient
adolescent and adult psychiatric care, as well as community-based
and education-focused pediatric services.
OT Department Responsibilities
I currently coordinate Level I and Level II fieldwork
experiences which involves scheduling of students, monitoring
student progress and communication with fieldwork educators
across a 16 state-region. I teach an introductory group
skills course for year I students, and an integrative theory
class for year III students, and also work with select students
in developing scholarly projects. I am advisor for occupational
therapy club, and enjoy working with students across all
3 years to devise innovative means of promoting the profession
of occupational therapy.
Research/Scholarly Interests
I am interested in a wide variety of research topics which
involve exploring the application of theoretical models
to practice situations. I am currently participating in
the University of North Dakota General Education research
study, where I am gathering data related to student’s
perceptions of general education goals and feedback regarding
their experiences at UND. I enjoy working collaboratively
with students and designing learning experiences which are
student-directed and involve application of theoretical
principles. |
