Department of Health Community Health Grant Program
CHPPR's staff has provided consultation, evaluation, and data analysis assistance to
the North Dakota Department of Health in their management of tobacco settlement funds
allocated for tobacco control activities throughout the state. As part of this project,
CHPPR's staff initially designed and created a large database to summarize the proposed
activities of the 28 local public health units provided with grant funding under the
Community Health Grant Program. A set of reports created for the Department of Health's
Division of Tobacco Prevention and Control summarized these proposed activities by unit
and across units. Subsequently, CHPPR constructed a second, large database to summarize
the local units' 6-month progress towards funded tobacco control activities. These
activities and accomplishments were then reflected in a set of summary reports generated
by CHPPR for the North Dakota Department of Health's ongoing evaluation of the tobacco
control activities supported by the Community Health Grant Program and are available
from the Division of Tobacco Prevention and Control.
