Admission Requirements
An applicant for admission to UND’s graduate program in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology will possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and have earned at least 20 semester credits in chemistry or chemistry plus biology, including at least six hours of organic chemistry (analytical chemistry and biology are highly desirable). Students may apply at any time, but those seeking financial assistance should apply as early as possible, since funds are limited and awarded on a competitive basis.
Application to our program is made through the UND graduate school. On line application may be made directly from http://www.und.edu/dept/grad/html/landingpage-connect.html. The following application materials are sent directly to the graduate school before the applications will be forwarded to the department admissions committee who will consider it. 1. A completed application 2. An official undergraduate transcript 3. GRE scores (general score only is required). 4. TOEFL Scores. International students for whom English is not their native language must have a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of at least 550 on the paper-based Test, 213 on the computer-based test, or a 76 total on the Internet Based test (iBT). Minimum iBT subscores of 26 Speaking, 19 Listening, 19 Reading, and 17 Writing are required.
